In February on a run with a friend I had discovered a gorgeous area that I had visions of bringing a swimmer to. A day before the shoot, I risked life and limb(not really-but it makes for an intriguing story) to re-discover this place. I had gone with the kids and the grandparents, who encouraged me to forge ahead on the hike-hoping for a quick discovery on the 86 degree day. I reminded myself of myself on a shoot, but instead of saying "one more time" I said to myself "it's got to be around this corner." I had discovered later that the exact location was currently underwater! However, like many finds, sometimes great things happen by accident! And so I found the majestic spot to take Kim. So you can imagine the horror I felt when I took Kim on an adventure for her shoot, only to find a sunbather and her army of friends in our sacred spot! I was quite thankful that, not only was Kim completely game for hiking, potentially exposing herself to poison oak, and fending off ants-she was resolute to complete our mission. (normally my shoots are not so harrowing!) Luckily our sunbather, was quite nice and relinquished her spot. I had so much fun watching Kim swim-what beautiful strokes-like a little dolphin.
Thank you Kim for a great shoot-and for being up for an adventure!
