complaint, only a silent will to please. It later dawned on me how difficult the poses were that I had asked her to do. Not only was she able to raise both legs parallel to the ground while hanging, but even more puzzling was that she was hanging from handles attached to chains without the slightest bit of movement! Try lifting just one leg from a standing position and hold it.(obviously greatly easier than what I asked Angel to do) I tried it-my leg burned so badly, and I held it for only a second! I had to wonder wether this discipline came from her time spent in the Royal Thai Air force, or the commitment it must have taken as a young child to spell a name that is over 21 letters long!
For Angel's shoot I decided that I would do a body study, and perhaps you can see why. Angel does sports-swimming, biking and running, with the fervor of any dedicated athlete, but she also spends equal time lifting weights and sticking to an impressively regimented diet. At 45, it appears to be working! At one point I had to stop and count the muscles protruding from her stomach on the screen of my camera. I wanted to rush home to get my anantomy book-certainly there were muscles on Angels stomach that don't exist on the human form.
Thank you Angel for a wonderful shoot. And thanks to Ed her equally fit and helpful partner who was there for the shoot on his birthday. When I asked what they were having to celebrate (thinking they must stray on special occasions) they replied in unison "what we always have, oatmeal, spinach and tofu." Time to throw out the four containers of Dryer's ice cream in my fridge!
